I like Facebook and Twitter API method of clicking follow, add a friend button. You click the button, the button status changed to 'You following' and 'Remove' at the same time request inserted into database. I had designed this tutorial using Ajax and jQuery.

Recently I was looking for a solution to this problem.The idea being that you would click the image with the “delete” class and submit an ajax call to delete the tag for that file in a Folksonomy system. I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to select the tagcontrol link, I needed to acquire it’s ID for one of the data variables in the ajax call. The answer came from prevAll(). With only the “this” reference from the clicked image, you can find and select the most previous “a” element that has the “.tagcontrol” class.

So you have a nice site or blog with lots of links to other places. Wouldn’t it be nice to use the power built into Google Analytics to track those links, without having to add the necessary JavaScript to every link? Here is a very easy way: Add outbound link tracking to a new or existing site. Provided that your links to other sites have the REL attribute set, you can track them very easily with some help from jQuery.

It makes sense to forgo database tables and server-side code when you need to store a limited amount of non-sensitive data. Accessing this data can be a snap with jQuery because the library was built to traverse XML documents with ease. With some custom JavaScript and jQuery magic you can create some interesting widgets. A good way to demonstrate this functionality is by building a browsable Amazon.com books widget.
