External links should always be marked distinctly in order to see them easily. First I thought adding a CSS class to all a[href^=http] will be more then fine. After that I got the better idea of using the favicon.ico of the external site, if it is available of course.

The Progress Bar is one of the latest components to be added to the excellent library of UI widgets and interaction helpers built on top of jQuery. It was introduced in the latest version of the library, which at the time of writing is 1.7.

JQuery has simplified a lot of my day to day coding. I think it is an amazing little framework and apparently a lot of people do too. Even Microsoft is bundling it with its ASP.NET MVC framework which , as far as I know, a first for open source software. Beyond even handling all the all of the cross browse mess, my favorite part of jQuery is the ability to easily extend the framework through plug-in. That brings us to the topic for this post. We are going to look at how easy it is to create a plug-in for jQuery.

A lot of websites on the Internet have tabbed content now a days. The problem I find with most of them is that most of the time they can be quite dull. For my new looks I created a container which has the ability to switch content through tabs, but with an animation. This tutorial will show you how to create your own tabbed content step by step.

This small plugin disables form buttons when the user submits the form. This prevents novice users from double clicking the button and submitting the form twice.

I’ve been tinkering with jQuery for a while now and I love it. As you’d imaging we’re adhering to web standards and a great little solution for opening external links, rather than using target=”_blank“ we add a rel=external, then with jQuery open the given link in a new window.
