The Basic Idea - All of these sliding box animations work on the same basic idea. There is a div tag (.boxgrid in my css) that essentially acts as a window where two other items of your choosing “peek” through.

Maybe the best way to describe EDP is to compare it to traditional programming. With more traditional programming the computer processes instructions one at a time. It will do step 1, wait for that operation to finish before moving on to the next step.

If you familiar with CodeIgniter, then you have realized by now that you can’t have relationship manager. Yes, CodeIgniter doesn’t have built-in ORM. But there are several projects such as IgnitedRecord and DataMapper that will help you manage relationship between your models. In this tutorial, I will introduce you to DataMapper.

xdebug is a small, but very useful tool in PHP development. It should be installed and activated on every PHP installation that is used for development. You should not run xdebug on a production system, though, because most features degrade performance. Personally, I would never want to miss xdebug a single day on my development system, and if it is just for the better formatting of the var_dump() output.
